Additional services

Aging In place

Age in place inspections evaluate the home and create a plan for people to ensure that as we age, our home will continue to provide a high quality of life and self mobility. The inspection takes into account things outside the normal home inspection. Items such as height and placement of bathroom fixtures, space in bedrooms, countertop colors and design, access to the home and its rooms and many more items are all taken into account and plans are set in place to take care of them before you or your loved one becomes unable to.

Radon

Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. Some areas in Northern Alabama have the highest potential of high levels of radon. Trusted Home Inspection uses radon rests from one of the top labs in the country to accurately and quickly evaluate the radon in your home. These results will help you make an informed decision whether mitigation should be conducted.

Asbestos and Lead

Asbestos and Lead have been in common household building products for years. Trusted Home Inspections works with a local lab to safety and accurately test asbestos samples. Lead paint can be easily tested for on site. Having this information is critical to staying safe during home repairs and remodeling.

Thermal Imaging

thermal image inspections

Thermal Imaging allows us to see temperature differences in various systems located inside and outside the home. This technology helps our trained inspectors locate and identify issues such as: overheated circuits, blocked drains, active water leaks and missing insulation. These issues would have otherwise been unobservable to the naked eye. With over 15 years of thermal experience, we understand how game-changing thermal is to home inspections. That's why we offer it free of charge to our clients.

Standard Tools and Tests

We use gas detectors to monitor for leaks around your gas lines. At times, these lines can contain small pinhole leaks or loose fittings that can cause health and safety issues for you and your family. Often, small leaks can go years without notice.

Believe it or not, you can have too much water pressure. And we test for that, too. This very simple test can alert you to conditions that could wreak havoc on the lifespan of your plumbing components. There is no reason not to perform this test on a home, and we do it for free.
